This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Mayor of London and the Greater London Authority, a period that has seen huge changes in the capital’s built environment and infrastructure.
To celebrate the anniversary, we sponsored the publication of a new book – London’s Mayor at 20 – which has been produced by Centre for London. Looking at the formation of the GLA and the Mayoralty, the book features interviews with Ken Livingstone and Sadiq Khan, as well as a foreword from Tony Blair, and also considers what the future holds for this modern metropolis.
To mark the book’s launch, Gerald Eve partners Lisa Webb and Neil Henderson took part in a webinar with the book’s co-editor Tony Travers, of the LSE, and Robert Gordon Clark of LCA, another sponsor.
The webinar discussed the impact the Mayor’s role has had on London and how it will shape the future, looking in particular at the capital’s status as a focus for global investment, the role of planning and the challenges presented by COVID-19.
You can view the webinar here, and the book is now available to order.
