Julia Chowings

A Town Planning expert with over 25 years’ experience, I have extensive expertise in leading multi-disciplinary project teams responsible for delivering some of the UK’s largest developments from city centre regeneration to logistics and infrastructure. I have a proven track record of developing innovative strategies that create value, and of working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.

My core areas of focus are town centre repurposing, industrial and logistics and major regeneration projects as well as recently expanding my experience to include high-growth sectors including major BTR schemes and life science projects across the Oxford Cambridge Arc.

Some of my key clients include British Land, Keltbray and SEGRO.

MY RECENT PROJECTS

• British Land – Leading the development of the robust, commercial, and flexible planning strategy for a major town centre regeneration masterplan that will see the redevelopment of the Queensmere & Observatory Shopping Centre’s in Slough Town Centre, creating a place that is uniquely Slough with the community at the heart of the town.
• SEGRO – Leading the development of the planning strategy for SEGRO’s successful bid to be the GLA’s partner for the East Plus 86-acre industrial land portfolio. I have also provided planning advice across numerous other SEGRO sites in Greater London including Park Royal, Enfield, Uxbridge and Acton.
• Bristow Helicopters – Leading the planning strategy for Bristow Helicopters to win the £1.6bn DoT contract to operate the UK Search and Rescue service from 10 sites in the UK, from Newquay to the Shetland Isles. Responsible for the delivery of the planning consents required for the UK Search and Rescue Service to commence by the contract deadline.
