Partner and Head of Operational Hotel Agency, advising on disposals and acquisition of operating and leased hotels, portfolios and development projects. Marcus is focused on providing advice to hotel investors and developers across the UK with a primary focus on the Central London market. He has a dual role across Operational Real Estate and Capital Markets.

Marcus has over 12 year’s experience in commercial real estate with over nine years specialising in hotels and extended stay. He has brokered hotel transactions and provided consultancy advice from economy to luxury brands. Prior to joining Gerald Eve in June 2023, Marcus was a Partner of a niche practice advising on off market transactions and was responsible for origination and underwriting for a private asset management company. In addition to transactions, he has undertaken operator selection mandates and successfully concluded lease negotiations and hotel management contracts.

 

Marcus has a broad range of clients including family offices, HNWs, private equity, developers and institutions.

 

RECENT PROJECTS

  • On behalf of Frogmore, sourced Ruby Hotels as the tenant for a new build 170 bedroom hotel within the Notting Hill Gate Estate. This included negotiating competitive lease terms and advising on rental levels.
  • Advised on the disposal of a consented hotel development site in Victoria on behalf of 4c Hotels following an off-market process to an institutional investor.
  • Disposed of a purpose built 273 bedroom Premier Inn in Southwark to a UK institution by way of a forward funding sale.
  • Off market sale of Bow Street Magistrates Court (now Nomad Covent Garden) for a European family office.
  • Advised Hermes on the sale of 8-10 Great George Street which comprised a consented hotel scheme to private investors.
