I am a Partner in our Leeds Office leading the Leeds valuation service, providing valuation and lease consultancy expertise, primarily in Yorkshire & Humberside and the Northeast. I bring over 35 years’ experience as a chartered surveyor, and take pride in delivering carefully considered, high quality advice to all of my clients and instructions.
An RICS Registered Valuer, I offer valuation advice on all types of commercial properties for purposes ranging from loan security and acquisition, to financial reporting, tax and compensation. I am an experienced expert witness, providing written and oral evidence on behalf of clients for a variety of purposes including rent dispute resolution and expert valuer appointments in matters such as rights to light and divorce cases; from initial guidance through to arbitration, independent expert, mediation and court proceedings. I have developed a particular specialism in providing diminution valuation advice to both landlords and tenants as an expert valuer in the field of terminal dilapidations claims, and I am proud to have developed a reputation as a leading proponent nationally amongst both the legal and surveying professions, advising upon properties across England and Wales.
I have developed extensive expertise providing valuation, rent review, lease renewal and lease re-structuring strategy advice and negotiation services upon commercial properties to a range of corporate and private clients, including Ineos, Regional Reit, Yorkshire Building Society and Betfred.
MY RECENT PROJECTS
- I lead the annual national freehold 70-property portfolio asset valuation exercise for Yorkshire Building Society.
- I provided expert valuer representation in rights to light legal proceedings instigated against the developer in 2020 of the then tallest tower in Yorkshire.
- I acted as expert valuer in proceedings running over 3 years on a £12m dilapidations claim on a 240,000sqft office complex, including mediation and trial representation.
