I have over 20 years’ experience in the minerals and waste management property sectors and I am an RICS Registered Valuer.

I provide advice regarding Valuation, Rating, Landlord & Tenant, Agency and Compulsory Purchase.

I chair the British Ceramics Confederation Rating Steering Group for the Brick and Tile Sector.

I work with a  variety of clients including Tarmac, Aggregate Industries, Breedon, British Gypsum, Infinis, Ibstock, Renewi and Wheelabrator.

MY RECENT PROJECTS

• Valuation – I provide advice and prepare valuations of mineral and waste assets throughout the UK for accounting, loan security, probate, negotiation, compensation and disposal purposes. Properties include mineral bearing land; brickworks; energy from waste plants; waste transfer / recycling / treatment plants; and landfills. Recent instructions included the valuation of UK/European brickworks and mineral bearing land in Northern Ireland.
• Rating – substantial experience managing and leading negotiations for specialist minerals, waste and energy related properties principally assessed by the Mineral Valuer and Specialist Valuation Unit of the Valuation Office Agency. Established experience in mitigating rates liabilities through assessment challenge/appeals and securing relevant reliefs. Experience in representing at Valuation Tribunal.
• Lease Management – I am responsible for the lease management of various landlord interests in quarry and waste management sites. Work includes drafting heads of terms, lease variations, rent reviews, and overseeing restoration works.
